I was on the el...
Q: How does the el/trains know when to make announcements?
GOOGLED THAT SHIZ. TWIZE.
A: "train announcements are triggered by the train occupying a section of track and the announcement system knowing the train number and hence it's stopping plan. It must also know the route selected into stations with more than one possible arrival platform." Also, conductors have the ability to repeat the previous or current announcement, play the coming announcement and play the door-open/close chime.
I was on a charity website...
Q: What does it mean when something is tax deductible?
WIKIED THAT SHIZ.
A: The amount you donated/the amount that is tax deductible is subtracted from your income, so you don't have to pay as many taxes.
I was looking at ice cream...
Q: What is the difference between vanilla, vanilla bean, and french vanilla?
GOOGLED THAT SHIZ. TWIZE.
A: The vanilla beans found in ice creams are exhausted vanilla beans, "ground residue of the extraction process." They hold some flavor and probably make the ice cream more vanilla-y. French vanilla ice cream means that there's an egg custard base used in the ice cream.
I was at the sketchy ITASA motel...
Q: Why do they put a bible in every hotel room?
GOOGLED THAT SHIZ.
A: The Gideon Society and the International Bible Society put it there. Apparently, if you look close enough, the bible will have some mention of the Gideons. There's a more comprehensive answer in the link.
I was reading a Christian magazine...
Q: What does the mustard seed have to do with Christianity?
GOOGLED THAT SHIZ.
A: Matthew 13:31 says "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches."
Matthew 17:20 says "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith like a mustard seed, you can move mountains."
I don't remember...
Q: What the hell is cricket?
GOOGLED THAT SHIZ.
A: It looks like baseball, but it isn't. It's popular in Britsh-y countries. I don't really want to read over the rules, but the site gives a pretty good and simple explanation.
Q: Is "Some Like it Hot" written by Shakespeare?
WIKIED THAT SHIZ. GOOGLED THAT SHIZ.
A: No. That's a movie with Marilyn Monroe. Shakespeare wrote "As You Like It."
Q: What is ubuntu?
WIKIED THAT SHIZ.
A: The concept of unity. It's used in African politics.
